Quadrant
02
Metabolic & Obesity Health
Inflammation fuels metabolic disease.
Insulin resistance and visceral fat drive flares, and steroids can add weight. This quadrant protects muscle, lowers cardiometabolic risk and uses nutrition and, when indicated, medical weight-loss therapy to cool inflammation from the inside.

Our approach
Lose the fat that fuels the fire. Keep the muscle.
Fat tissue, especially visceral fat, is metabolically active and pro-inflammatory. Bringing it down can lower inflammatory load, ease joints and reduce heart and diabetes risk, as long as strength is protected along the way.
MEASURE
Know your starting point
Body composition and visceral fat by DEXA, glucose, insulin, lipids and cardiometabolic risk markers.
TREAT
Personalized metabolic plan
Anti-inflammatory nutrition, adequate protein, and medical weight-loss therapy such as GLP-1 medicines when a standard indication is present.
PROTECT
Preserve muscle and bone
Resistance training, protein targets and repeat body-composition scans so weight loss doesn’t come out of muscle.
29→54%
of psoriatic arthritis patients reached minimal disease activity after weight loss

Questions patients ask
Good questions, plain answers.
Can I use a GLP-1 medicine if I have an autoimmune disease?
Sometimes. GLP-1 therapy is considered when there is a standard indication such as obesity or type 2 diabetes, and it is coordinated with your autoimmune treatment. It is not a treatment for flares.
Why do you scan body composition?
The scale can’t tell fat from muscle. DEXA shows visceral fat, lean mass and bone, so we can make sure you lose the right tissue.
Will losing weight help my joints?
For many people, yes: less load on joints and less inflammatory fat. Results vary, so we track both symptoms and disease activity.
